April

April was a busy month. On the 4th I had my third birthday in Rwanda and throughout the month we celebrated five or six other student or parent birthdays. On the 7th we returned to school after spring break and three students were added to my class, the Sagers home from furlough. On the 9th Michael and Melissa headed back to Oregon having completed three months in Rwanda.

On the last Monday of the month the school took a field trip to Gako Farms. This farm is a training center for new farming and livestock raising methods. We saw kitchen gardens, bag gardens, and planting, fertilizing and mulching techniques. We visited the animal barns and cages and saw the baby bunnies, cows and piglets. It was a great field trip and afterwards we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the Sager's house.
